Here’s some events in the Forster region for September 2018:
Stroud Rodeo & Campdraft
When: Fri 14 & Sat 15 Sep 2018
Location: 36 Cowper St, Stroud
Stroud, just 50 minutes North of Newcastle, is a township has a population of some 600, growing to around 5,000 for the weekend of the Rodeo, held in September each year.
The Stroud Rodeo is a premier event included in the top Ten in Australia attracting over 800 competitors and 1000 entries. Events include Bull Riding, Bronco Riding, Bulldogging and Barrel Racing. A full Campdrafting program is also held in conjunction with the Rodeo.

Quilt Show

Location: 294 Victoria St, Taree NSW 2430 at St Johns Anglican Taree (the Blue Cross Church)
A celebration of quilts!

Twilight River Festival
When: Sat 15 Sep 2018, 3-9pm
Location: 99 Aquatic Rd, Darawank NSW 2428
Rediscover the magic of your own backyard with Discovery Parks – Forster’s free Twilight River Festival. You’re invited to join the Discovery Parks – Forster family for an afternoon of fun and entertainment and to celebrate the very best the New South Wales coast has to offer.
Browse the local market stalls while sampling the delicious food available at the many food trucks dotted throughout the festival. Dust of those dancing shoes and hit the dancefloor to the sounds of live music or check out one of the big screen movies or barefoot ski demos throughout the day.

Bulahdelah Hill Climb

Location: Wootton Way (old Pacific Highway), Bulahdelah NSW 2423
The famous Bulahdelah Hill climb claims the fastest public road hill climb in the country. Opening the doors to the general Motorsport community.
Racing starts at 10am.
Bush Dance & Auction
When: Fri 21 Sep 2018, 6:30pm
Location: Forster Bowling Club, Strand Street, Forster NSW 2428
Tickets are $10 for adults. Available at Forster Bowling Club or Gourmet Chicken Shop Forster Arcade.
BYO Nibbles- drinks purchased from club.
PaddleNSW Myall Classic
When: Sat 22 Sep 2018
Location: Myall River, Tea Gardens
There are a range of distances and starting times, intended to see all paddlers complete their chosen course by early afternoon and in time for Presentations at 2:45pm.
Distances offered are 12km, 27km and 47km, the longer course being a perfect shakedown for the Hawkesbury Canoe Classic held in late October.
Wallis Lake Oyster & craft beer festival
When: Sat 22 & Sun 23 Sep 2018, 11am-5pm
Location: 1 Palm St, Tuncurry NSW 2428
This year we will have 10 local brewers & live music all day. We will also see the return of the oyster eating competition & kids entertainment to keep the little ones busy. It’s going to be a weekend of fun for the whole family.

Forster Running Festival
When: Sun 23 Sep 2018
Location: Beach Street, Forster
Not a runner? Team up with your friends and family and enjoy the beautiful 4km walk and talk. All competitors throughout the day receive finishing medals, fresh fruit and ice cream for their recovery.
The event will be staged from Forster main beach area. Enjoy a family day out of fun and fitness where competitors can choose from the kids 4km or 2km fun run, the 4km walk and talk, 5km fun run, 10km run or a 21.1km half marathon.
There will also be a jumping castle, bbq and plenty of random prize draws.
Register before 30 June 2018 to get your name on your race bib. There will be a number of prize draws in the lead up to the event. Prizes have been provided by event sponsors which include Compressport gear and Brooks vouchers. The earlier you register the more chances you have to win.

42nd national chevrolet festival
When: Fri 21 Sep – Mon 24 Sep 2018
Location: John Wright Park, Tuncurry
This four day event culminates in the Show n Shine on Sunday 23 September from 9am to 4pm! Spectator entry is free (gold coin donation to Westpac Rescue Helicopter appreciated).
Friday 21st. Possible lake cruise, or visit Motor Cycle museum Nabiac. Free BBQ for Entrants around 6pm.
Saturday 22nd. Observation run and visit to local motor vehicle customizer. Afternoon for cleaning cars.
Sunday 23rd. Show and Shine for all Entrants. 7.30-4pm All cars to be on the field and parked prior to 9am. No entry after 9am. Open to the spectators (Free entry) 9am – 4pm Presentation Dinner for Entrants and trophies issued.
